Relax, we’ve got
you covered.

The Nest Thermostat works with almost all boilers. We recommend that a trained Nest Pro install it for you. A professional will ensure Nest is installed in the right location, attach the Heat Link, and start setup.

Want to know what your installer will do?

When your professional installer comes, you’ll go over a few things: if the Nest Thermostat will work in your home, where it should be installed and what kind of installation you’ll need. The install should take about an hour.

You can look over the page below to get ready.

Will it work in my home?

The Nest Learning Thermostat works with most heating systems.

  • Combi and condensing boilers
  • System and heat-only boilers
  • Hydronic underfloor systems
  • Air source and ground source heat pumps (heating only)
  • Zoned systems (one Nest Thermostat per zone)
  • Switched live systems
  • Low voltage (dry contact) systems

If you have a zoned system, each zone needs its own Nest Thermostat and Heat Link.

Installation options.

Your installer will replace your existing thermostat, install the Nest Thermostat in a new spot on your wall, or place it on a shelf using the Stand for Nest Learning Thermostat (sold separately).

  • If you already have a thermostat and like where it is, just replace it with a Nest Learning Thermostat.

  • Installing in a new spot? You can power Nest from a wall socket.

  • Or you can use the Nest Stand to put the Nest Thermostat on a desk or bookshelf. The stand is sold separately.

Scout out a good spot.

If your current thermostat isn’t in a good location or you’ve never had a thermostat before, your installer will install your Nest Thermostat somewhere new.

What will happen to my heating programmer?

If you had a programmer, you won’t need it anymore. The Nest Thermostat is a programmer and thermostat in one. It’ll take your programmer’s off-times and replace them with 9º temperatures – that helps you save energy in normal weather and protect your pipes in a sudden frost.
