Selection Criteria

RETAIL

Selection Criteria applicable to Authorised Resellers selling to customers which are consumers. These Selection Criteria would typically apply to: retailers / businesses which sell Products directly to consumers/end users (B2C).

  1. If Authorised Reseller is a mobile operator, is a large scale operator in their given sector (smartphone penetration or mobile network installed base).

  2. If Authorised Reseller is an enterprise (energy, insurance, security etc) business, is a large scale operator in their given sector or targets a unique customer base which is aligned with and enhances Google’s Product strategy in the Territory.

  3. Is able to deliver varying product propositions directly to consumers.

  4. Has qualified and trained staff.

  5. Has:

      a. suitable premises (e.g. bricks and mortar) in multiple locations with the ability to offer clearly differentiated instore space for the Products; and/or

      b. a high (relative to its sector) traffic web site:
        i. with easy to use product and brand search functionality which ensures results from key word searches for Google include Google products;

        ii. which includes the details of a landline telephone number for before and after sales queries. The landline telephone number (and any additional online support services) will be available during best industry practice opening hours for customer support online (and at least 7 hours of operation per working day);

        iii. with a secure and easy ordering process which allows customers to place their orders fully and completely through the web site;

        iv. with an estimated shipping date shown at the time of customer’s order, a mechanism in place for confirming to the customer each order placed through its web site and when each order was shipped and capability for customers to track the shipment and obtain timely updates on the actual status of delivery;

        v. with clear policies and effective procedures for customer returns, refunds and exchanges (including after sales online, telephone or chat support to address and resolve return, refund and exchange queries); and

        vi. that does not run adware, spyware or other software to engage in pop-up or pop-under advertising and/or generating non-user initiated activity (e.g. forced clicks or redirects).
  6. Commits to displaying the Product(s) in their online and/or offline store in a branded, differentiated manner such that: a) the consumer is not confused about the features and utility of the Product(s); and b) demo units are in good working order, such displays and use of assets/brand to be approved by Google.

WHOLESALE

Selection Criteria applicable to Authorised Resellers selling to customers which are not consumers. These Selection Criteria would typically apply to: wholesalers / distributors / businesses which sell Products to other businesses (B2B) for resale.

  1. Has principal business activity as a distributor/wholesaler: (a) of Consumer Electronic (CE) and associated IT hardware products; or (b) to trade professionals typically involved in the installation of the Products.

  2. Has contractual relationships with major retail and/or appropriate commercial organisations within the Territory with appropriate sales accounts with each.

  3. Has specific trained staff in order to manage and sell Products.

  4. Is able to deliver varying product propositions directly to businesses within its customer base.

  5. Ensures that any website address/url used to resell the Products at the wholesale level has sufficient controls and checks (e.g. password protected log-ins) to ensure that Partner is only supplying Products to appropriate partners.

  6. Operates and runs at least one adequate warehouse or storage premises (with security levels equivalent to good industry practice, and storage standards and conditions suitable for high-end CE products) within the respective Territory for the purpose of holding distributing and shipping the Products to its customers.

  7. Uses suitable vehicles for the transport of Products, or a suitable transporter / freight company to ensure the transport of Products is in conditions appropriate for high-end CE products.

  8. Is sufficiently credit-worthy so as to meet Google’s then-current credit requirements, if the Authorised Reseller is purchasing directly from Google.

CORPORATE

Selection Criteria applicable to Authorised Resellers selling in B2B corporate transactions. These Selection Criteria would typically apply to: corporate entities which sell Products (i) to businesses for their own use (and not for resale), or (ii) to the employees of a business as part of a salary sacrifice / employee benefit scheme.

  1. Authorised Reseller is a registered company that can offer products and propositions to customers either directly or through 3rd party channels.

  2. Authorised Reseller is reputable brand with a track record of providing high quality products and/or services in the B2B and/or consumer space.

  3. If Authorised Reseller offers Google Products as part of a bundle with other products, such other products must be of quality at least comparable to that of the Google Products.

PRO & ENTERPRISE & BUNDLING

Selection Criteria applicable to Authorised Resellers selling a bundled product or service to customers which are consumers. These Selection Criteria would typically apply to: trade professionals (electricians, plumbers etc.) or enterprise businesses which sell Products directly to consumers/end users together with their own products/services.

  1. Is able to deliver varying product bundles or product and services bundles which combine Google Products with the Authorised Resellers own products/services directly to consumers.

  2. Has qualified and trained staff.

  3. If Authorised Reseller offers Google Products as part of a bundle with Authorised Reseller products, such Authorised Reseller products must be of a quality at least comparable to that of the Google Products.

  4. If Authorised Reseller offers Google Products as part of a bundle with Authorised Reseller services, such Authorised Reseller services must be of high quality.

  5. Authorised Reseller either: (a) has a substantial customer base and is therefore able to deliver promotions in volume with a significant level of uptake; or (b) targets a unique customer base which is aligned with and enhances Google’s Product strategy in the Territory.

INSTALLATION

Additional Criteria applying, in addition to the applicable set of Selection Criteria set out above, to Authorised Resellers offering Installation Services. These Additional Criteria would typically apply to: Retail, Pro & Enterprise partners who offer Installation Services.

  1. Authorised Reseller must have and maintain a workforce of properly trained and qualified installers who are able to perform quality installation of Product, including scheduling, the removal of existing equipment, installation of Product, diagnosis of incompatibilities and/or need for modified installation, Product setup (including assisting the end user with attaching a Product to a WiFi network) and customer support.

  2. For home installations, Authorised Reseller must offer minimum installation windows of am and pm, must be able to schedule installation within 3 days of customer purchase and within a reasonable timeframe of customer’s requested install date.

  3. Authorised Reseller must take steps to ensure that installers only work on jobs for which they are properly certified under all applicable regional, national and local laws and regulations.

  4. Authorised Reseller must use its best endeavours to ensure expeditious delivery and/or installation of the Product.
